As a community devoted to cherishing God, we believe it is important to know the truth about who he is and what he's done for us in Jesus. Our Statement of Faith is still essentially the same as it was when we first began in 1950. It includes the same kind of basic beliefs that are held by all Christian churches throughout the world, as well as some beliefs with a distinctly Baptist flavour.
We take being part of a church family seriously and with a lot of gravity. Committing yourself to a body of believers is weighty. But it’s also wonderful. When Ministry Partners join, they commit to a spiritual family that provides encouragement and support. They are called to a biblical degree of responsibility, service and sacrifice to their brothers and sisters. And our elders take on a special responsibility to care for them as part of the church family.
The sun represents the glory of God, which is revealed most clearly in his Son, Jesus Christ. The cross represents how Jesus died to take the punishment for our sins so that we may live. The open book represents the Bible, which proclaims the good news that Jesus has risen from the dead and now calls us to follow him. The green hills represent the world, which was made by and for God, so that we may know and enjoy him forever.
